July 2008: Metatrone's Italian and international confirmation.

Metatrone's long journey into Australia has finished. The band returned to Italy last Thuesday, following their much acclaimed performances in the two main metropolises of kangaroo's homeland. After the show at the Australian Catholic University Central Hall, in Melbourne, Metatrone confirmed their musical presence with the amazing appearance at "Viva Agorà - Festa degli Italiani" live show, performing "The Best Way" and "I colori del Sole" in front of a huge audience (estimated over 5.000) at the famous Sydney Entertainment Center (where other many great bands have played since now, from Queen to Muse, from Dire Straits to Iron Maiden and Beyoncè, and so on). The show was filmed and broadcasted on SAT2000 channel, and it also will be released in a dvd (Fall 2008). Next show was at Tumbalong Park, straight ahead from the Entertainment Center: another awesome gig for more than seven hundred people from all over the world, screaming and head-banging on the notes of the Veni Creator Spiritus.
Due to such a great success, Metatrone's official interviews have been released for The Australian and for The Sydney Morning Herald newspapers (click for more). In Italy they officially appeared on L'Avvenire e Il Corriere della Sera, capturing the attention of the medias.

May 2008: Another livedate planned.
Just few days before the Australian minitour for WYD08, Metatrone will play in Carruba di Riposto (CT) on 2nd of July 2008. Albanova (guest) will open the concert. See livedates for details.

May 2008: Metatrone live in Australia for World Youth Day 2008.
Dear friends, it's time for a great update on live concerts program. Metatrone has been approved and confirmed to play as guest at the forthcoming edition of World Youth Day that will be in Sydney from 15 to 20 July this year. The countdown has began: less than 60 days and the band will reach Australia for two live performances, touching Melbourne first (live at the Australian Catholic University Central Hall on 12th July, as part of the Days in the Dioceses Youth Festival) and Sydney as second and final destination, live at Tumbalong Park as part of the Youth Festival, on Wednesday 16th July. The METATRONE project was born to show that even with an extreme kind of music like heavy metal is, it is possible to talk about Jesus Christ and the Gospel, to bring his message closer the young ones and spread for them words of love and spirituality, using just the way the band feels, the way of rock. Another aim of the project is the collecting funds on behalf of the missions all over the world.
Metatrone start their journey at the end of 90's. Each member was coming from different musical experiences (from AOR to power/progressive metal) when they founded the band in 1998.

In 2001 as the founder member Davide Bruno started his spiritual pilgrim and, following the calling, entered the Seminary of Catania, the band felt the beneficial effects of this new event. Since then they all started their own personal pilgrim, not only in music, but even in life and they began to write lyrics truly and deeply inspired on a growing Catholic faith.

From 2001 to 2004 the band refined the songwriting and worked on the lyrics.

In 2005 with the spiritual and financial support of the father priests of the Seminary of Catania, and in collaboration with TRP Music, Metatrone release their first album, titled “The Powerful Hand”, as a co-production between the band and the Seminary itself. Metatrone is now an official project of the Seminary of Catania and it still has to become part of the cultural project of the Italian Catholic Church.
The present line-up is: Jo Lombardo on lead vocal, Stefano Calvagno on guitars and backing vocals, Davide Bruno on keyboards and backing vocals, Virgilio Ragazzi on bass and Tony Zappa on drums and percussions.
